5th European Art Quilt Triennial

I have had work accepted for the 5th European Art Quilt Triennial, 9 September 2012-6th January 2013, Textilsammlung Max Berk-Kurpfalzisches Museum, Heidelberg. The piece Bee Mapping, looks at the threat bees face from continued exploitation of the land and their drop in numbers. Its base is an old tablecloth. The piece is related to a series I am doing for my guest artist appearance at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexander Palace (October ) and Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham (August) in 2012. Urban/Nature, this new body of work looks at the continued relationship between the built and 'natural' environment through the use of found textiles, cloth and what I refer to as 'Stitch Sketching'.
