Flying Free

Over the last couple of weeks I have been able to indulge in some teaching, walking and exhibiting away form home. The pleasure of sharing a space with like-minded people is a joyful and rare opportunity. I recently taught 'Narratives in Cloth and Thread' at West Dean College at the end of September. We explored personal stories connecting us to "place". The beautiful gardens provided additional inspiration and a place to wander with our thoughts. Thank you to the course participants who allowed me to share their WIP here. Looking forward to returning   10-13 April 2026.

And the grounds were simply at their best as Autumn sets in. Even had a few mornings on my favourite bench.

Earlier in September I exhibited my piece 'Time Flies' with Art Textiles Made in Britain at the Kaleidoscope Gallery. The exhibition will tour the UK in  starting at ACE Arts in Somerton in March. Check for updates on their exhibitions webpage.

Finally, I am delighted to be presenting a Thread Talk in partnership with the Embroiders Guild on 11th November ‘Making Connections’ explores how our minds connect to ‘matter’ and how the brain interprets and makes a creative response to the physical reality of the world around us. I am donating fees and commission for this talk to the Embroiderers’ Guild and We Care. We Care is an organisation dedicated to supporting carers and vulnerable families, the elderly and disabled against poverty and social isolation.
